Jessie
and Ray warmly welcome you to share our house which we have recently
finished building ourselves. Our house is situated on our 5 acre
life style block 1km from the Manapouri Township (10 minute walk
or 1 minute drive to the lake). We are surrounded by Cathedral Peaks,
Hunter Mountains, Kepler Mountains, Eyre Mountains and the Takitimu
Mountains so no matter where you look you will see outstanding mountain
views.
Jessie works
for the Department of Conservation and Ray works for Real Journeys,
the largest tourist operator in Fiordland so we are well versed
to point you in the right direction to make the most of your stay
in Fiordland.
Enjoy a continental
breakfast with us or if you want a good sleep in, make yourself
at home and help yourself later in the morning or stroll down to
Manapouri to one of the 3 cafes and enjoy breakfast while taking
in lake views.
We also have
a self contained serviced cottage called Kepler
Mountain View Cottage on our property should you wish to have
some space and be self catering. Kepler Mountain View Cottage also
has great views along with its own outdoor living area and Barbeque.
Facilities:
The main house has 2 guest bedrooms that share one bathroom. Each
bedroom has its own French doors opening out onto a deck with stunning
views of the Hunter Mountains and the “Monument” which
is a landscape feature of Lake Manapouri. Fresh towels provided
daily and hairdryer available in guest bathroom. Each room has electric
blankets and alarm clocks. The guest bathroom has heated floor tiles
and contains a shower, nice deep bath, vanity and toilet. We have
a large open plan living area with the kitchen and dining areas
in the middle and two living areas either side that you can lounge
around and enjoy the views. This area also opens out onto the deck.
Feel free to help yourself to tea or coffee at any time.
Our cottage
has one bedroom with a queen bed, an open plan lounge dining and
kitchen area along with a bathroom. The bathroom has a shower (no
bath). The kitchen is fully equipped with a cook top, electric fry
pan and a grill/bake microwave oven. Heating is by way of electricity.
The bedroom and open plan area have stunning views of the Kepler
Mountains and a ranch slider leads out into the garden and outdoor
living area. The cottage has a TV, DVD, hairdryer, electric blanket
and tea and coffee is provided. There is also a sofa bed in the
cottage that folds out to a double bed and a single roll away bed
can also be made up if required. While the cottage is suitable for
a couple it can sleep up to 5.

Excellent restaurants
are available at both Manapouri and Te Anau, and we are happy to
point you to our favorites.
Tour operators
provide a door to door pick up service and if you are away overnight
or a few days either on a tour or hiking we can provide secure storage.
