1 - Auckland
to Waitomo
Take
a scenic countryside drive from Auckland to Waitomo Caves arriving
early afternoon. This will give you time to visit the world famous
Waitomo Caves.. Overnight Waitomo.

2 - Whangamomona
Depart
from Waitomo via Taumarunui taking in the Forgotten Highway to the renowned
town of Whangamomona. Stay over night at the Whangamomona
Hotel, New Zealand's most remote country hotel.

to New Zealand's River City where the movie 'The River Queen' was filmed.
Stay 3 nights in this region and take in many of the area's attractions
based around the picturesque Whanganui River.
