to Heron's Ridge, your home in the Waikato. The tranquility of our
farm and sport horse stud in the hills of the Waikato is a perfect
setting for your stay, close to the shores of Lake Waikare.
Set
in 25 acres, Heron's Ridge occupies an attractive secluded setting
midway between Auckland and Hamilton. Although both cities and their
international airports are within 1 hours drive, you would never
know as we are away from all the traffic. State Highway 1 between
Auckland and Hamilton is 10 minutes drive away.
We
are just a 15 minute walk to the shores of Lake Waikere and of course
you are welcome to explore our farm where we are creating a small
nature reserve. John will be pleased to introduce you to our stallions
and mares together with their foals who are usually born in the
spring (Nov to Dec). We also have some cattle, goats and sheep.
No farm is complete without some friendly pets like our talkative
oriental cat and two black labrador huntaway dogs.
Both
our new qualtity Garden Studio and the in-house bedrooms are appointed
to ensure your comfort during your stay with us. Overlooking the
garden and farm paddocks, this is rural New Zealand at its best.
Breakfast
and Dinner is served farm house style around a large table where
we delight in serving you a scrumptious breakfast with a wide choice
to suit all tastes. Fresh tea and coffee are available on request.
We
ask our guests not to smoke in the house as a courtesy to the other
guests.
The
self contained Garden Studio is attached by a covered portice to
the main house and comprises a queen size bed with en suite shower
and toilet, a small kitchen and lounge. In the studio you can prepare
your own meals or have meals provided and served in the main house.
