The Hermitage alpine resort is made up of the main Hermitage Hotel plus the Hermitage Motels and Chalets, offering altogether 214 guest rooms (see rates below for room types and prices).

Wining & Dining

  • The Alpine Restaurant - The Alpine Restaurant is open daily for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. This spacious restaurant serves a stunning buffet selection and every seat enjoys spectacular views of the Southern Alps.
  • The Panorama Restaurant - Open from 6pm all year round, meals are often accompanied by stunning views of the sun setting over the Mountains. This award-winning restaurant offers a menu featuring New Zealand's finest seafood and game.
  • The Snowline Bar - Ideal for a pre-dinner drink, the Snowline Bar provides some of the most spectacular views of Aoraki Mount Cook, and an enticing log fire.
  • The Coffee Shop - Located upstairs in the Hermitage building, the Coffee Shop is the ideal place to stop for your favourite coffee, with a spectacular terrace and unbelievable views.
  • The Chamois Bar - Perfect for a drink in relaxed surroundings, sit back and enjoy an authentic New Zealand pub meal. The big screen TV brings alive major sporting events or guests can enjoy a game of pool with the locals.

Conference Facilities
The Hermitage has a range of venues suitable for conferences and private parties and can provide access to audiovisual and presentation equipment. We can cater for small boardroom style meetings to large 200 seat conferences. Solve your event, dining and accommodation requirements all in one tailor made package.

Wedding Packages
Hermitage Weddings range from small ceremonies high up on remote glaciers, to more traditional ceremonies in and around the main Hermitage building with Reception dinners for 100+ guests. Every wedding has its own individual requirements, so we are happy to tailor a package to suit your needs.

Mount Cook Alpine Village Activities
Whatever you choose to do during your stay at The Hermitage - hike, ski, safari by plane, or just sit back and take in the scenery, be prepared for an awesome experience. A range of activities are available with something to appeal to everyone, from glacier skiing in the winter to hiking, boat trips and fishing in the summer. The Hermitage also offers some great shopping, including clothing, locally made Arts & Crafts and other souvenirs.
