Five Rivers
Retreat provides luxurious and peaceful accommodation in a secluded
and serene setting. Options include bed and breakfast or dinner,
bed and breakfast. Two individually designed and decorated bedrooms
are available.
Five Rivers
Retreat is situated on Kotahi Farm, a 700-acre working farm in the
Five Rivers District in the heart of Northern Southland that runs
cattle, sheep, and deer. Ruby also has a host of animals to show
you, two pet sheep her Cat Cleo and her pet guinea pigs along with
the working dogs!
Your hosts,
Paula and Roger Thompson, have a daughter, Ruby, who loves to talk
to visitors. In their free time, Roger enjoys fishing - especially
fly fishing - and is sure to point you to a good fishing spot. Paula
loves cooking, so you'll get to enjoy some good and tasty food!

Five Rivers Retreat offers two stylishly individual designed and
decorated guest rooms each with their own private entrance.
Rustic
Tuscany Room
The rural rustic feel makes this room warm and welcoming. Decorated
in Tuscany tones, the bedroom has a king size bed (able to be converted
to twin king singles). The ensuite bathroom features a clawfoot
bath (great for relaxing in after a days travelling!), large
shower, a rimu vanity and tiled heated floor.
Pacific
Room
With a distinctly Pacific flavour, this room has a king size bed
(able to be converted to twin king singles). The ensuite has a modern
feel with a large shower, a modern deep bath, a wall-hung vanity,
and tiled heated flooring.
All guests have
access to phone, fax and email services and rooms are equipped with
a telephone jack point for laptop computer use. Television, video,
tea and coffee making facilities are provided in our large lounge
for you to enjoy at your convenience. Self-service laundry facilities
are available on request and passenger transfers can be arranged
if required.
Location
Five Rivers Retreat has a central location in Northern Southland
between Queenstown, Invercargill, Te Anau and Gore and is within
an hour's drive from each of these four major centres. This makes
it a great holiday base or a convenient stop-off point between destinations.
