The TSB Bank
Festival of lights is a highlight on the national events calendar
and its unique attractions are a delight to all who see them.
The TSB Bank
Festival of lights is set in the magnificent 52ha Pukekura Park,
Fillis St, New Plymouth, Taranaki. The lights along with the features
spread throughout the park are a MUST SEE! Every year it kicks off
in December to coincide with the Christmas at the Bowl concert.
The festival runs through to early February and weekends through
to end of March to compliment the concert line up at the TSB Bowl
of Brooklands. Programmes for 08/09 will be available from November
2008.
If you would
like a copy of the programme go to www.festivaloflights.co.nz and
register to receive a programme and/or become a festival friend
to receive regular updates about the festival.
The festival
was established in 1993 (although its origins date back to 1953)
and it's a great way to enjoy a summer evening in New Plymouth -
particularly with the On Stage programme of entertainment in the
park during the festival. On Stage is the entertainment in the park
which takes place over two stages.
In addition,
the Summer Scene programme offers a great range of fun activities
for children, so be sure to check out what's on offer! From simple
beginnings, the festival has grown into the nationally acclaimed
summer-long event we see today, and best of all its FREE!
Plans are underway
for a fantastic programme for summer 08/09.

entertainment programme held in Pukekura Park.
- Two open-air
stages of entertainment over an eight-week period featuring local,
