Our
area at the top of New Zealand's South Island is a maze of waterways
- the magical Marlborough Sounds. The Queen Charlotte Sound is
usually considered to be the most scenic of the Sounds.
A
distinguishing feature of the Queen Charlotte Sound is the absence
of roads. Most of the holiday lodges and attractions are accessible
by boat only!
Endeavour Express is proud to be one of the main water transport
operators serving the outer Queen Charlotte Sound and fabulous
Queen Charlotte Track. We have been operating our fast, friendly
and reliable service since February 1994. Our home base is in
Picton, and all our boat skippers are Sounds men who will be only
too pleased to share their knowledge of the Sounds and its folklore
with you.
In
Picton we operate from our well marked berth at the Town Wharf.
We also pick up from and drop off at the Interisland ferry terminal
on request.
Our
two fast and comfortable passenger vessels are operated in accordance
with the New Zealand Safe Ship Management System.
Endeavour
Express is powered by a high performance diesel engine and has
a full compliment of modern safety equipment. Endeavour Express
is licensed to carry 15 passengers.

Mountain
Bike Hire
New service available mid October 2005: We have mountain bikes
to hire for anyone interested in biking either the complete Queen
Charlotte Track or just a day ride.
Costs
are NZ$45 per bike per day, 2 day hire is NZ$85 per bike, 3 day
hire is NZ$125 per bike, with a bond required also. We provide
a good quality bike, helmet, pump, basic repair kit, bike lock.
You
can book on line for this service, and have a range of sizes available,
women’s general size 16in frame, mans average size 18in frame,
and large size of 20in frame. The
bikes are all lightweight alloy framed, with disc front brakes,
alloy v-brake rear. 24 speed.
