Doubtful
Sound Overnight Cruise
Your journey starts in Manapouri, where Diane will welcome you and
guide you onto the vessel that will take you on a 45 minute boat
ride across Lake Manapouri, New Zealand's most scenic lake, to West
Arm at the head of the Lake..
At West Arm,
you will be met by Chris, who will transport you over the mighty
Wilmot Pass, a 40 minute drive by vehicle. You will enjoy the magnificent
views of Doubtful Sound, (a great photo opportunity) before arriving
at Deep Cove, (the head of Doubtful Sound) where the Seafinn is
waiting for you...
Chris now becomes
your skipper, guide and chef, a man of many talents, he will provide
you with an enjoyable and unforgettable experience as Seafinn winds
its way around Doubtful Sound and its many arms on it's way out
onto the open Tasman Sea while you sightsee, relax or fish. Catch
your evening meal from the sea. Try filleting it too! (Chris will
show you how). Many fish are abundant in the Fiordland waters, such
as blue cod, sea perch, teriki, school groper and the occasional
shark....
In the evening, enjoy a hearty meal with fellow guests, (a maximum
of 12). Chef Chris' meals are becoming legendary on the Southern
Fiords. Relax and indulge in the fresh culinary delights that Chris
enjoys preparing for you. After your meal, just sit back, relax
and view the spectacular southern sunsets that Doubtful Sound is
renown for ..... "Be part of the experience".
Charters
in Fiordland
Deep Cove Chartes offers between 2 to 5 (or longer) day charters
for up to 12 passengers only in the winter months from 1st of April
to 31st of October.
We can guide
you through any of Fiordland's spectacular sounds (Milford excluded)
and are happy to advise you on your choice of destination. Go hunting,
fishing or just relax as you cruise around.
Discovery Cruises
to Preservation Inlet can also be arranged with helicopter change
overs (reliant on several group bookings).
Ecology Cruises
to your choice of destination, within the bounds of Fiordlands scenic
waterways.
