You will be the one to set the pace of your floating holiday. Enjoy one of Marl borough's famous wines on deck while anchored in a picturesque cove. Experience some exhilarating sailing or don a mask and snorkel to gather some seafood. Go fishing & diving or check up on the rich history of the Sounds. Admire the magical views over the Sounds while hiking some of the tracks through the native forests that are accessible from the water. Varied wildlife on land and sea will keep you thrilled. Visit the gannets or you might encounter penguins, seals, dolphins or if lucky whales. Cook up a BBQ onboard or hop ashore and enjoy a meal at one of the Resorts scattered around the Sounds. Anchor up for the night in another gorgeous bay or pull up one of our safe and private moorings throughout the cruising area. Wake up by the birdsong coming from the native bush at the water's edge, ready for another day full of adventure.

Compass' diverse fleet consists of fully equipped and well-maintained vessels: Runabouts, Yachts, Launches and a Sailing Catamaran. There will be a vessel to suit everyone. If you have some trouble choosing which vessel to charter, just contact our crew and we will be happy to help you out. The vessels are available for charter all year. No experience or a bit rusty? We offer all the boating tuition required. Or just have a skipper onboard to guide you through this cruising paradise.

Charter seasons:
Peak : December 20th until last day of Feb & Easter Holidays
Shoulder - Spring : Start of Labour Weekend to December 19th
Shoulder -Autum : March 1st to May 1st excluding Easter Holidays
Economy : May 1 to beginning of Labour Weekend
Xmas/New Year period Dec 24th until the 8th of Jan.

Note : Minimum of a 5 day booking required for the New Year period, 3 days in January/February & Easter Period.

Standard vessel charter rates including mooring maintenance fees.
(Self skippered - based on a 24 hour period, GST Included, fuel not included).

*All skippered vessels include a skipper for your charter duration. Fuel used is an extra cost. The exception is 4 hrs of fuel per day is included with the daily rates for Andromeda. Anything above 4 hrs motoring on Andromeda is an extra charge and this will come out of your charter bond.

• Dive tank hire per day $7.00/d (Plus air fill $7.00)

All extras: Dive equipment hire on request. Bait, tackle and Ice available at Compass Charters Base in the marina. All Compass charters clients get 10% off all stock. Call us to arrange anything you may need.

Please Note: There is no fee for using a credit card as your method of payment. You can also choose as a payment option, to direct credit Compass Charters Ltd bank account and this can be done very quickly and securely via internet banking. Please call us for bank account details or for any assistance.

Provisioning Fee: There will be a 10% on top of provisioning costs for this service. Please note that there is a minimum fee of $25.00.

Relocation Fee: Vessel relocated to Pelorus/Havelock or return for clients prior to charter commencing/terminating. Rate $300.00 for the skipper plus travel costs for skipper to destination by road. Also we will need to top up the fuel tanks from after your charter and after the boat has been relocated. Relocations to other places also available so please enquire.

Security Bond: A bond is payable at charter commencement. With no damage, refundable within 20 days of charter completion less cost of fuel used & conditions per Charter Booking Form.

Bond amounts: Self-drive charters all vessels: $2500 except runabouts: $1200; Panache Cat is $4500.

Skippered Charters: Fuel/Service bond of between $1000.00 and $3000.00, depending on vessel and requirements.
