Chalet
Chevron is a small hotel with old world charm. We fell in love with
it when we first came in the door and saw the leadlight windows and
the panelling, reminiscent of a more gracious era. The house is on
three levels and has a friendly, welcoming feel. All the bedrooms
are a different shape and furnished individually. Guests enjoy their
breakfast in the sunny dining room which has wonderful seaviews. There
is always a large selection of breads, cereals, fruit etc as well
as individually cooked breakfast.
Chalet
Chevron is situated on the warm sunny slopes of Parnell and looks
out onto the islands of the Hauraki Gulf and the Coromandel Ranges
in the far distance. Parnell is one of the most interesting parts
of the city, full of historic buildings, small shops, charming streets
lined with old wooden houses and cottages, gardens, galleries &
craft shops, little arcades & courtyards, many restaurants &
cafes and the Parnell Rose Gardens.
Mention
must be made of the Auckland Memorial Museum, close by, set in a
huge park filled with trees, lakes, a small waterfall, jogging tracks,
a fernery and the Wintergardens. The Museum is visited by over 1
million peple each year.Other interesting places nearby are the
Skytower & Casino, Maritime Museum, Victoria Park Market, Kelly
Tarlton's Underwater Aquarium with the Antarctic exhibits and lots
of beaches.
