Overlooking
the Pacific Ocean, Beach Lodge comprises a series of separate self-contained
chalets sited directly above Coopers Beach. The waves breaking on
the shore create a constant soothing sound and beachcombing is a relaxing
pursuit. Native Pohutukawa trees line the beach, their red blossoms
in December giving them the name "New Zealand Christmas Trees".
The
two-storey chalets are architecturally designed using native timbers,
each kitchen and bathroom in solid rimu. Double-doored showers are
a feature of the bathrooms. Total privacy is ensured with double
French doors opening on to private decking surrounded by an attractive
garden. Guests are welcomed with fresh flowers and confectionery.

NEW
Sunset Lodge
A smart new self-catering apartment is Beach Lodge's piece de
resistance. With sweeping ocean views past pohutukawa trees, the
newly renovated apartment is private and intimate, yet has direct
access to the beach below for swimming, relaxing and beach-combing.
With blonded timber and water hyacinth lounge furniture, the apartment
is comfortable and casual, with a beachy feel to complement the
outlook. The fabrics are fresh and relaxing in blues and white,
with timber flooring and white painted trimming. The dressing room
and high spec bathroom are features, with dramatic wall-sized mirrors
and light wells letting the sunlight into the shower room. Attention
to detail is everywhere, including versatile lighting throughout.
There is also a mezzanine with twin beds and bird's eye view of
Coopers Beach. The main bedroom and living room open on to a sunny
deck with outdoor furniture inviting guests to dine and relax alfresco.
The sound of the waves soothes and energises while guests holiday
at Beach Lodge.
